Wenzel Spine founder and CEO Chad Neely dead at 47

Chad Neely, founder and CEO of Wenzel Spine, died March 7, the devicemaker said.

Mr. Neely led Wenzel Spine since 2008, according to his LinkedIn profile. He earned his bachelor's degree from the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington and his MBA from Texas McCombs School of Business in Austin.

"One of the many professional legacies he leaves behind is a team of strong and talented leaders that are ready and equipped to continue our mission," according to the company. "We are heavy-hearted, yet we remain united and determined to see Wenzel Spine’s vision continue to bring value and innovation to surgeons nationwide, our distributor partners, patients in need and the entire healthcare community."

Wenzel Spine is known for its minimally invasive spine device, VariLift. VariLift is designed as an alternative to spinal fusion. In 2020, Wenzel Spine acquired imaging analytics company, Statera Spine.
