Implanet JAZZ Band cost-effective for scoliosis surgery — 6 key notes

Spinal Tech

Implanet published a retrospective cost-effectiveness study showing the economic benefits of the company's JAZZ Band technology for scoliosis surgery.

The researchers examined key hospital metrics for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis treatment. The patients either received all pedicle screw constructs or hybrid constructs with pedicle screws and sublaminar bands. There were 32 cases included. The JAZZ band hybrid showed:

1. Fewer implants per case
2. Shorter procedures
3. Less blood loss
4. Shorter hospital stay
5. Cost-savings and incremental revenue opportunities
6. Less radiation exposure

The JAZZ hybrid construct had $11,700 of incremental profit per procedure. "The dramatic benefits highlighted in this research illustrate Implanet's continued commitment to delivering technological advancements for improved patient outcomes, enhancing procedural safety for the clinical team and making a positive economic impact on the hospital's bottom line," said Implanet CEO Ludovic Lastennet.
