Kenneth Light, MD, who practices in San Francisco, performed the first neck fusion reversal in the United States, according to a news release.
The patient in the case originally received cervical fusion, a spine stabilizing procedure, several years ago and continued to feel pain as a result of the procedure. After the neck fusion reversal, the patient reported relief from much of the pain. Additionally, x-rays show the patient's range of motion improved after the reversal.
