The product is part of Invuity’s proprietary photonics-based portfolio to address the challenges of minimal access surgery and improve outcomes. The technology illuminates the surgical site allowing for better visualization of tissue planes, critical structures and anatomical landmarks. The system was developed in response to the growing need for improved visualization as surgeons are working through increasingly smaller incisions.

The system can be placed within the incision to direct and shape the illumination deep into the disc space without risk of thermal tissue damage. “With this innovative drop-in device, surgeons benefit from superior visualization without altering their standard surgical technique or instrumentation,” said Warran F. Neely, MD, a neurosurgeon with Christus Santa Rosa Health System in San Antonio.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
