InVivo Therapeutics receives Notice of Allowance for SCI polymeric implant patent — 3 things to know

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued InVivo Therapeutics a Notice of Allowance for the U.S. Patent Application, “Methods and Compositions for the Treatment of Open and Closed Wound Spinal Cord Injuries.”

Here are three things to know:

 

1. The patent application has cleared internal review and is now awaiting patent issuance.

 

2. The patent encompasses treatment methods of compression or contusion spinal cord injuries with a variety of biodegradable or bioabsorbable polymeric implants including the Neuro-Spinal Scaffold.

 

3. InVivo is the excusive licensee of this intellectual property through a license with Boston Children’s Hospital and Cambridge-based Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
