Implanet’s spine activity jumps 38% in 1st half of 2016 — 8 report highlights

Bordeaux, France-based Implanet reported its financial results for the first half of 2016, ending June 30.

Here are eight report highlights:

 

1. Implanet generated revenue of €4.094 thousand, representing a 24 percent increase from the same time period in 2015.

 

2. This revenue increase is due the boost in spine activity, which saw a 38 percent jump from the same time period the year prior.

 

3. The company upped its Jazz technological platform sales in the United States by 101 percent and in France by 40 percent, compared to the first half of 2015.

 

4. In the first half of 2016, providers used the Jazz technology in about 800 surgical interventions. Now, more than 2,800 patients have received treatment with the Jazz technology since its release in 2013.

 

5. Implanet’s knee segment saw a 12 percent increase in sales compared to the same period in 2015. The 50 percent growth in the French market accounts for this growth.

 

6. The company’s gross margin reached 52.5 percent of revenue, with reflects a 182 percentage point increase over 2015. This growth is due to the increase of U.S. Jazz sales.

 

7. Operating expenses increased by €302 thousand compared to the first half of 2015, due to the increase in U.S. sales and marketing costs.

 

8. Implanet reported cash and cash equivalents totaling €2 million and financial investments totaling €1.9 million.
