NuVasive names Jason Hanson executive vice president — 7 things to know

NuVasive elected Jason D. Hanson as the company’s executive vice president, strategy, corporate development and general counsel, according to CNN Money.

Here are seven things to know:

 

1. Mr. Hanson has more than 20 years of experience as a well-rounded business leader and legal advisor to healthcare companies.

 

2. He previously served as corporate vice president for General Electric and was a member of the senior executive team at GE Healthcare.

 

3. His responsibilities at GE Healthcare included legal, compliance, government relations, enterprise risk management and various key corporate development activities.

 

4. Before GE, Mr. Hanson served as company group chairman and executive vice president at Valeant Pharmaceuticals and was responsible for the company’s consumer, ophthalmology, Latin American and dental businesses, as well as the manufacturing and supply chain, R&D, regulatory and medical affairs teams.

 

5. He began his career with Arnold & Porter, a law firm located in Washington, D.C., and later served as a prosecutor in the National Criminal Enforcement Section of the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.

 

6. Mr. Hanson earned his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a law degree from Duke University School of Law.
