Henry County Medical Center to implement MAKOplasty procedures: 4 observations

Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn., is implementing MAKOplasty procedures, according to a report by The Paris Post-Intelligencer.

Here are four observations:

 

1. MAKOplasty can be used for partial knee resurfacing and total hip arthroplasty.

 

2. The MAKOplasty procedures use the surgeon-controlled RIO Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System.

 

3. The RIO robotic arm allows surgeons to precisely and accurately in align and place implants.

 

4. According to Lisa Casteel, CFO of the hospital, four orthopedic surgeons will be using the system by the end of the year.
