Globus Medical sees 20% increase in Q1 sales: 4 notes

Globus Medical on May 4 posted first quarter sales of $276.7 million.

Four things to know:

1. First quarter sales grew 20 percent year-over-year, according to a news release.

2. The enabling technologies segment raked in $25 million, a 95 percent increase from the same time in 2022. This was largely driven by new interest in the Excelsius3D imaging system, President and CEO Dan Scavilla said in the release.

3. U.S. spine business grew 14 percent year-over-year, Mr. Scavilla said. International spine sales grew 21 percent year-over-year.

4. The company saw net income of $49.1 million in the first quarter.
