Here are five key notes:
1. OrthAlign technology is designed to improve arthroplasty success rates by incorporating navigation and sensor technology platform into its two implant alignment solutions — OrthAlign Plus and KneeAlign.
2. Computer-assisted surgery devices are often large and cost millions of dollars, but OrthAlign’s single-use products are handheld devices that don’t require huge capital investments.
3. KneeAlign received FDA clearance for total knee replacements and OrthAlign has both FDA clearance and the CE mark for Europe, Australia and a few countries in Asia.
4. The products don’t require large processors or display modules. They have navigation and missile-guidance technologies used in aerospace and defense industries.
5. Around 96 percent of patients who have used OrthAlign products reported tibial alignment within two degrees of a neutral mechanical axis while mechanical guides show comparative results in only 66 percent of patients.
“OrthAlign’s products are elegantly designed, reflecting the company’s advanced technology architecture,” said Frost & Sullivan Senior Research Analyst Bhargav Rajan. “They address the key market demands of portability, manageability and user-friendliness in surgical navigation devices.”
