Mr. Schmidt has more than 20 years of experience in the spine industry, beginning his career by pioneering a startup that introduced one of the first-ever interbody fusion implants, according to an April 26 press release.

Following his role distributing spine implants, he spent 20 years at Medtronic managing the eastern half of the U.S. for enabling technology sales. He then joined Wright Medical, leading a team to drive sales in the foot and ankle market. Most recently, he oversaw sales and marketing initiatives for a small spine company.

In his new role, Mr. Schmidt will focus on Curiteva’s mission to advance innovative technology in patient care.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
