First European Surgeon Implants Aurora Spine ZIP Minimally Invasive Device

Carlsbad, Calif.-based Aurora Spine had the first European implantation of its ZIP MIS Interspinous Implant performed at an Italian hospital.

Daniel Cabezas, MD, performed the procedure at University Casa di Cura Rugani in Sienna, Italy. Dr. Cabezas is a neurosurgeon with expertise in minimally invasive spine surgery.

Aurora Spine will focus on training more surgeons to use the MIS technology in preparation for a broader device launch in 2014.
