1. The Simpliciti Shoulder System uses an ultra short-stem designed as opposed to long stemmed prostheses, to better assist physicians performing shoulder arthroplasty.

2. According to R. Sean Churchill, MD, the design will also reduce the risk of a mid-shaft humerus fracture.

3. The Simpliciti Shoulder System is a good option for intervening in shoulder osteoarthritis in younger patients as the design intends to minimize bone removal and soft tissue disruption.

4. “Simpliciti delivers anatomic results without the procedural complexity of traditional stemmed components. The specific features of the system enable physicians to minimize bone disruption thereby reducing procedure times, minimizing blood loss and exposure to anesthesia,” T. Bradley Edwards, MD, said. He goes on to note this is beneficial to both the patient and to the hospital in terms of managing costs.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
