Here are five things to know:
1. There were around 40 orthopedic surgeons in eight countries convened for the first Asia-Pacific computer-assisted surgery masters course in Singapore. The event included orthopedic surgeon lecturers and a hands-on cadaveric experience with the technology. Another similar course in Taiwan attracted 35 surgeons.
2. The ExactechGPS system provides surgeons with real-time, patient-specific data to guide Exactech Optetrak Logic knee system implantation.
3. The company will continue technology development after Exactech’s recent Blue Ortho acquisition. Blue Ortho is a computer-assisted surgery development and manufacturing firm and is now Exactech’s technology partner.
4. The ExactechGPS became available to surgeons in the United States in 2014 and now the technology is supported in more than 11 countries.
5. The ExactechGPS is used during total joint replacement for reproducibility and patient-specific procedures to drive better outcomes.
