Here are five notes:
1. The Dyneema Purity is intended for use in orthopedic trauma treatments.
2. The cerclage cable is composed of Dyneema Purity Radiopaque fiber, an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene medical fiber.
3. Fifteen times stronger than steel, the fiber demonstrates great flexibility and is biocompatible and chemically inert. The fiber helps decrease tissue inflammation, irrational and metal allergy complications.
4. DSM privately collaborated with Maastricht University Medical Center in the Netherlands, to design the cerclage fiber concept.
5. “Not only does the FDA clearance facilitate our customers in the launch of their orthopedic trauma devices, it also strengthens the leadership position of Dyneema Purity fiber,” said Carola Hansen, director of biomedical polyethylenes, DSM.
