Drs. Gregory Mallo and Philip Scrank use Zimmer Biomet’s Comprehensive Vault Reconstruction System: 5 highlights

Gregory C. Mallo, MD, and Philip L. Schrank, MD, will leverage Zimmer Biomet’s Comprehensive Vault Reconstruction System to perform a shoulder replacement in late July.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. The VRS system is intended to help patients suffering from glenoid vault/socket extreme bone loss.

 

2. The technology represents the first patient-matched glenoid implant commercially available.

 

3. Drs. Mallo and Schrank serve as co-chiefs of the shoulder service at St. Charles Orthopedics in East Setauket, N.Y.

 

4. Dr. Mallo completed a shoulder reconstruction and arthroscopy fellowship at Harvard University/The Boston Shoulder Institute.

 

5. Dr. Schrank completed a sports medicine fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
