Dr. Richard Moore performs 1st surgery with Zimmer Biomet’s Persona Trabecular Metal Tibia: 5 notes

Richard Moore, MD, a surgeon in Boise, Idaho, performed the first case using Zimmer Biomet’s Persona Trabecular Metal Tibia March 20.

Here are five notes.

1. The FDA cleared the instrumentation in January, and it received the CE Mark in April.

2. The Persona TM Tibia is a part of the Zimmer Biomet’s portfolio of cementless total knee arthroplasty solutions.

3. The company’s proprietary TM Material is composed of a porous biomaterial made form elemental Tantalum. The material features properties akin to cancellous bone. More than 2 million orthopedic devices have featured the TM Material.

4. The Persona TM Tibia offers new drilling, sizing and insertion instrumentation.

5. Zimmer Biomet reported an initial launch of the Persona TM Tibia in the first half of 2018, with a full commercial launch in the second half of the year.
