Dr. Eric Leuthardt joins The Aspen Institute as Health Innovators Fellow: 5 things to know

OsteoVantage Co-Founder Eric C. Leuthardt, MD, was named a Health Innovators Fellow by The Aspen Institute.

Here are five key notes:

 

1. The fellowship is designed to strengthen innovator leadership across the U.S. healthcare ecosystem as well as connect and inspire the leaders. The Health Innovator Fellows join more than 2,100 other entrepreneurial fellows from 49 countries who are members of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.

 

2. Fellows will meet together four weeks over two years to carry out leadership projects. They commit to an idea within the first six months to build upon current efforts.

 

3. Dr. Leuthardt is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon with a special interest in complex trauma spinal injuries. He serves on OsteoVantage’s Technical Advisory Board and is an associate professor at Washington University School of Medicine.

 

4. The American Academy of Neurological Surgeons honored him with an annual award, and he was named among the top young innovators by MIT’s magazine Technology Review.

 

5. Dr. Leuthardt has 1,043 patents on file for medical devices and brain-computer interface technologies. He is co-inventor of the OsteoVantage spinal instrumentation.
