Marc Goldman, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Doctors Hospital, performed a live hip and knee reconstructive surgery, while observing attending orthopedic surgeons were able to ask questions regarding clinical decision making, including product choices and surgical techniques, according to the release.
“The symposium functions as a teaching institution for attending physicians who want to excel in performing these difficult revisions,” Dr. Goldman said in the release. “Each surgeon does things differently; each has his own tricks. Seeing the surgery allows them to become more comfortable with the techniques and instruments, and presents the opportunity to ask questions and to discuss their alternative approaches and procedures.”
