DJO Global to Acquire Dr. Comfort for $254M

DJO Global, a provider of medical device solutions for musculoskeletal health, vascular health and pain management, has signed an agreement to purchase Dr. Comfort for approximately $254.6 million, according to a company news release.

Headquartered in Mequon, Wisc., Dr. Comfort is a developer, manufacturer and marketer of therapeutic footwear and related medical and comfort products for the diabetes care market. DJO said DRC generated net sales of $71.8 million for fiscal year 2010, reflecting growth of 22.5 percent over net sales of $58.6 million for FY 2009.

The transaction is expected to close within 30-45 days, subject to customary governmental approvals and closing conditions.
