DFINE Receives CE Mark for STAR Tumor Ablation System

DFINE, a spine device company, has received the CE Mark approval for the STAR Tumor Ablation System for treating painful metastatic spinal tumors.

The company plans to launch the STAR System in Europe next week. The system received the FDA 510(k) clearance in 2010. The system was developed for physicians to target where the device’s energy is delivered to heat and destroy the tumor.
