1. This is the first DePuy Synthes hip system designed to be used with tissue-sparing approaches such as the minimally invasive anterior approach in addition to traditional total hip replacement surgical approaches.

2. The ACTIS Hip System is designed to increase joint stability immediately after surgery, and it is optimized for the anterior approach, which is intended to helps patients get back on their feet more quickly after surgery with lower dislocation rates compared to other surgical approaches.

3. According to assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the Philadelphia-based Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Atul Kamath, MD, “the ACTIS Hip System incorporates features such as a medial collar, triple-taper geometry and twelve sizes to allow for a precise anatomical fit.”

4. Approximately 11,000 ACTIS Hips have been provided for patients around the world and the system continues to roll out in 2018.
