The study, which will take place in Spain, is approved to treat 20 patients undergoing ACL reconstruction for sports-related injuries using Cytori Cell Therapy. Thirteen patients have been treated thus far and full enrollment is expected this year.
The study will be led by Ramon Cugat, MD, PhD, who is president of the Medical Council for the Catalan Soccer Delegation’s Health Insurance Company under the Spanish Soccer Federation as well as director of the orthopedic surgical department at Hospital Quiron in Barcelona, Spain.
