Here are six key notes:

1. The CODMAN CERTAS Plus Programmable Valve features eight different pressure settings.

2. Hydrocephalus causes an excess of cerebrospinal fluid, which enlarges the brain ventricles and increases head pressure. This process can cause brain tissue damage and cognitive and motor function impairments.

3. The valve allows neurosurgeons to preoperatively choose a pressure setting to control the drainage rate of cerebrospinal fluid from the brain.

4. The CODMAN CERTAS Tool Kit controls the pressure by magnetic force.

5. The valve may used in combination with Codman Neuro’s BACTISEAL Antimicrobial Catheter or SIPHONGUARD Anti-Siphon Device.

6. Hydrocephalus is a neurological condition experienced by one million Americans.
