Ceiling-Mounted CT Device Receives FDA Market Approval

IMRIS’s VISIUS iCT ceiling-mounted intraoperative computed tomography device received FDA 510(k) clearance.

The device, the first of its kind to be approved for marketing by the FDA, has various applications, and may be particularly useful for spinal and neurosurgical operating rooms. The on-demand CT imaging will help surgeons with decision making and implant placement guidance.

The scanner can move into and out of the operating room during surgery from ceiling rails for ease of workflow. This design allow for multiple rooms to use the device for increased utilization and exam speed.
