CarboFix to launch carbon fiber vertebral body replacement device

CarboFix will launch CarboClear, its new carbon fiber vertebral body replacement system, at the Congress of Neurological Surgeons event in San Francisco from Oct. 21 to 23.

Four things to know:

1. CarboClear is designed to replace a collapsed, damaged or unstable vertebral body due to tumor or trauma.

2. It is intended for use during open surgical procedures in the thoracolumbar spine.

3. The implant consists of carbon fibers with integrated porous Ti-alloy endplates.

4. CarboClear provides strength to support the impaired healing process in patients as well as compatibility with particle radiation and other stereotactic radiosurgery modalities.
