The ruling stems from a 2016 lawsuit related to Boston Scientific’s 10kHZ spinal cord stimulation system, according to a Nov. 1 news release from Nevro. The case doesn’t have any effect on current or future Nevro products or operations.
Boston Scientific was awarded $20 million by the jury. Nevro’s general counsel, Kashif Rashid, said in the news release that the company plans to appeal.
A spokesperson for Boston Scientific said in an email to Becker’s that the company is “gratified” by the jury’s decision and the move is “the first step in holding Nevro accountable.”
