Bioventus names Bill Hawkins chairman of the board of managers — 5 key notes

1. Bioventus’ board of managers appointed Mr. Hawkins chairman. He is replacing Dan Lemaitre, who served as chairman since 2012 and recently decided to leave the company’s board.

 

2. Mr. Hawkins has experience as president and CEO of Immucor, a transfusion and transplantation device company. He has experience in leadership roles at Johnson & Johnson and Eli Lilly and Company in addition to his experience at Medtronic.

 

3. During his time with Medtronic, Mr. Hawkins built a strong background in orthobiologics including BMP products, which will be beneficial for Bioventus going forward.

 

4. Mr. Hawkins earned his MBA from Dardan School of Business at the University of Virginia.

 

5. Throughout his career, Mr. Hawkins has served on private and public, for-profit and non-profit boards. He has been on the board of directors for AdvaMed, Minneapolis Institute of Arts and University of Minnesota Foundation.
