The trial of the Kiva’s safety and effectiveness is being used to support an FDA 510(k) market clearance application. Three hundred patients at 21 medical centers in five countries are being evaluated.
The Kiva implant is made from PEEK-OPTIMA polymer and designed as a mechanical support structure and reservoir to contain bone cement.
