Aurora Spine is an early-stage company focused on new spinal implant innovations for minimally invasive and regenerative spinal implant technologies. The company is based in Carlsbad, Calif., and Mr. Coupland’s new responsibilities include managing the company’s U.K. sales efforts.
Mr. Coupland previously was the national sales manager for QSpine and managed the company’s U.K. sales force and growth.
“Mike has the perfect balance of start-up and multinational experience to succeed in his task of building our direct sales presence in the UK market,” said Aurora’s Vice President of International Business Development Richard Moss.
Aurora Spine recently released its six month results, with a heavy focus on business growth for the future. In the first half of 2014, the company reported new hospital approvals for its ZIP ULTRA and sterile-packaged titanium plasma spray coated Ti-Nano MIS interbody spinal fusion system; now 76 hospitals allow the FDA-approved technology.
Going forward, the company plans to supply the Ti-Nano implants to distributors and introduce the ZIP Graft Bone Dowel.
