Analyst Glenn Novarro said hospitals are budgeting for more knee and hip replacement procedures and capital spending will bounce back from the constraints of the recession.

The prediction came as Stryker announced plans to buy Ascent Healthcare Solutions, a reprocessor of single-use devices, including some of Stryker’s own devices, for $525 million.
