1. AHN’s orthopedic surgeons performed the region’s first robotic-assisted, complete hip and partial knee replacements with the MAKO system in January.
2. The MAKO system includes a robotic arm integrated with surgical instrumentation and high-definition visualization.
3. The system allows for more accurate during joint replacement or arthroplasty procedures.
4. The adoption of the technology is part of an ongoing effort to provide innovative and high quality orthopedic care at AHN. The health system recently launched the Diamond Care patient navigator program as part of the effort as well.
