7D Surgical expands devices for spine, neurosurgery — 3 things to know

7D Surgical on Feb. 3 unveiled several expansions to its spine and cranial product lines.

Three things to know:

1. The company’s Cranial Biopsy Kit — enabling neurosurgeons to use image guidance to accurately target brain lesions — received FDA 510(k) clearance and a medical device license from Health Canada.

2. 7D Surgical launched its Universal Tracking Kit, which tracks and shows surgical instruments on the Machine-vision Image Guided Surgery system.

3. MvIGS is 7D Surgical’s flagship system, which aims to improve surgical workflow in spine and cranial procedures. More than 1,500 clinical cases have been completed with MvIGS.
