6 things to know about neurosurgeon Dr. Farhad Limonadi’s posture-enhancing wearable

Neurosurgeon Farhad Limonadi, MD, neurosurgery director at Rancho Mirage, Calif.-based Eisenhower Neuroscience Institute, launched a Kickstarter to help fund Monolith Posture Coach’s production.

Dr. Limonadi is also the CEO of Neurospectrum, a Rancho Mirage, Calif.-based biomechanical technology company, which patented Monolith Posture Coach.

 

Here are six things to know:

 

1. Monolith Posture Coach is a wearable electronic posture aid that connects to Bluetooth and integrates with the iPhone and Android.

 

2. The wearable is designed to improve posture with only 30 minutes of use daily.

 

3. Dr. Limonadi and the Neurospectrum team gathered insight from spine specialists, clinicians and biomechanical engineers to develop the wearable, targeting posture along all spine segments.

 

4. Monolith Posture Coach simultaneously monitors the biomechanics of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine segments as well as the abdominal musculature.

 

5. Neurospectrum finished Monolith Posture Coach’s pilot production. The company is now relying on Kickstarter funding to conduct a mass-market launch of the wearable.

 

6. With 80 percent of Americans experiencing back pain at some point, posture aids help combat spinal injury.
