Here are the COOs of five of the top spine device companies worldwide: 

Alphatec (Carlsbad, Calif.): Scott Lish was tapped as Alphatec COO at the beginning of 2024. He first joined the company in 2017, serving as vice president of research and development. 

Augmedics (Chicago): Anna Raz serves as COO of Augmedics. She has over 15 years of experience in the medical device industry. Her core expertise is building operations from scratch with a focus on technology and quality while scaling it from a small start-up to a global company. 

Globus Medical (Audubon, Pa.): Keith Pfeil has served as COO and CFO at Globus since 2004. He leads the company’s operations, finance, tax, pricing and contracts, internal audit, quality, information technology, investor relations, strategy and business development. In addition, he oversees the company’s biologics business unit—Bone Bank Allografts.

Stryker (Kalamazoo, Mich.): Viju Menon serves as president of operations for Stryker, first taking the role in 2018. He is responsible for global operations, including manufacturing, direct procurement, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, sustainability, integrated business planning, logistics and advanced operations such as additive manufacturing technology development.

Xtant Medical (Belgrade, Mont.): Mark Schallenberger first joined Xtant in 2023. He has deep experience in the field of orthobiologics.
