Alphatec launched the Calibrate LTX lateral expandable system, the company said Oct. 17.
The system integrates with Alphatec's lateral platform, according to a news release. It's indictaed for spinal fusion surgeries to treat degenerative spine conditions, according to Alphatec's website.
Calibrate LTX can also be used as an adjunct to fusion for patients with multilevel degenerative scoliosis and sagittal deformity.
"The simplicity and ease of insertion of the implant is unique compared to the over-engineering that plagues other expandable systems," Anthony Kwon, MD, a spine surgeon with OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, N.C., said in the release. "Enhanced visibility, powerful expansion and ease of back-filling make LTX the ideal expandable interbody solution."
