Medical device company Tenon Medical has expanded its use of the JIB instrument kit for the company's Catamaran SI joint fusion system.
Mark Stouffer, MD, an orthopedic spine surgeon at St. George (Utah) Orthopedic Spine, successfully treated five patients with the Catamaran fixation device using the new JIB kit at Zion Surgery Center, according to a Sept. 13 press release.
Dr. Stouffer has been using the Catamaran SI joint system since February 2022. The JIB kit is used with the existing Catamaran instruments during SI joint fusions to access the implant site, deliver the implant and expedite bone graft removal and insertion into the Catamaran implant.
JIB incorporates physician feedback gained from early surgeries and includes a lower profile access portal designed to enhance stability and tools for improved graft handling.
