First 50 cases done with KG2 Surge interbody device

Spinal Tech

The first 50 cases with Kleiner Device Labs' KG2 Surge flow-thru interbody system were completed, the devicemaker said Aug. 17.

The system is a single-use bone graft delivery tool with a 3D-printed fusion implant, according to a news release. It comes pre-assembled and sterilized in one tray.

"The new KG2 Surge was developed with the objectives of maximizing bone graft delivery to the prepared intervertebral disc space, and streamlining implant placement, positioning, and integration in the graft matrix," CEO Jeff Kleiner, MD, said in the release. "The first 50 cases demonstrated excellent achievement of those objectives."

Next, the company plans to work toward wider commercial availability.
