Dr. Khachatryan is part of the BalancedBack trial from 3Spine, according to a June 6 news release. The device is an alternative to spinal fusion and replaces the function of the disc and facet joints through a posterior approach.
“Our center has participated in many successful cervical disc trials in the past, and I think we now have the lumbar solution we so desperately need,” Dr. Khachatryan said in the release. “Low back issues are incredibly common, and Motus is the only technology to my knowledge that can address a broad array of degenerative conditions. The technology also allows us to correct balance in a new way.”
The BalancedBack trial is examining Motus in single-level lumbar degeneration patients.
