VySpine is partnering with Oxford Performance Materials to develop a spine implant line with poly-ether-ketone-ketone technology.
OPM's OsteoFab PEKK material will be used in new 3D-printed interbody implants from VySpine, according to a Feb. 22 news release. OsteoFab technology includes antibacterial and antiviral properties, metal and metallosis-free formulation and radiolucency.
"OPM has a history of developing industry partnerships with companies dedicated to innovative solutions that push medical device technology forward in ways that improve patient outcomes," OPM founder and CEO Scott DeFelice said in the release. "VySpine clearly fits that mold."
