Globus Medical's Q2 results, Aurora Spine's clinical study & more: 5 device company notes

Orthofix's data on M6-C sales and four more key updates from spine and orthopedic device companies in the last week:

1. The first patients have been enrolled in a study for Aurora Spine's Zip Interspinous Fixation device.

2. Orthofix reported 105 percent year-over-year growth for its M6-C cervical disc in the second quarter. Read more from its earnings call here

3. NuVasive appointed Amy Belt Raimundo to its board of directors.

4. Spine devicemaker Globus Medical posted a 68.6 percent year-over-year increase in global sales to $251 million in the second quarter, continuing its growth from the first quarter. 

5. Taiwan Main Orthopaedic Biotechnology is developing surgical glasses equipped with augmented reality and mixed reality to improve accuracy and efficiency in spine surgery. The technology is in the FDA's final review process.
