NuVasive adds to board of directors

San Diego-based spine technology company NuVasive appointed Amy Belt Raimundo to its board of directors, the company said Aug. 9.

Ms. Raimundo, the co-founder and managing partner for healthcare tech venture capital fund Convey Capital, brings over 20 years of healthcare experience to the board. She also co-founded MedtechWomen, a nonprofit that highlights women in medical technology. 

She previously served as managing director for Kaiser Permanente Ventures and as chief business officer at Evidation Health, among other roles.

"As the leader of spine innovation and with its robust technology pipeline, NuVasive is well-positioned to help change the future of spine surgery," Ms. Raimundo said. "I look forward to supporting the company as it advances the standard of patient care."

NuVasive CEO J. Christopher Barry called Ms. Raimundo "a fantastic addition to our board of directors with her deep knowledge of the healthcare landscape and bringing disruptive technologies to market.
