Four things to know:
1. The investment aims to boost productivity and the manufacturing capacity at its Juncos and Villalba facilities, where it develops technology to treat chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
2. Medtronic also manufactures devices for spinal and cervical conditions at its facilities in Ponce and Humacao.
3. The funding will add new machinery and generate between 500 and 600 jobs on the island.
4. Medtronic currently employs about 5,000 people in Puerto Rico.
