Here are five things to know about the new technology:
1. The Irix-A is the most recent generation of X-spine’s lumbar fusion technology and combines a polymer body with an integrated titanium ring for additional strength and durability.
2. The implant includes a titanium plasma coating of bone-apposing surfaces and a resilient locking mechanism for screw fixation.
3. The implant can be used at one or two contiguous levels of the lumbosacral spine.
4. Irix-A is cleared by the FDA.
5. X-spine is exhibiting the Irix-A as well as a complete line of the company’s spinal devices and biologics at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons annual meeting.
