5 most active venture capital firms in healthcare in Q4 2017

Venture capital firms are investing in healthcare organizations across the country.

Here were the five most active venture capital firms in healthcare for the fourth quarter of 2017, according to PwC and CB Insights’ Healthcare MoneyTree Report Q4 2017.

1. New Enterprise Associates in Menlo Park, Calif., invested in 13 healthcare companies, including Personal Genome Diagnostics and Allakos.

2. Alexandria Venture Investments in Boston, invested in eight healthcare companies, including Codiak Biosciences and Relay Therapeutics.

3. ARCH Venture Partners in Chicago tied for third, investing in six companies including Semma Therapeutics and GRAIL.

4. OrbiMed Advisors in New York City also invested in six companies during the fourth quarter, including Tricida and Pionyr Inmmunotherapeutics.

5. Atlas Venture in Cambridge, Mass., invested in five companies, including Gemini Therapeutics and Obsidian Therapeutics.
