Mizuho OSI celebrates 40 years

Spinal Tech

Mizuho OSI said cheers to its 40th anniversary as a leader in operating room technology and patient positioning solutions.

In 1978, Mizuho OSI was founded as a soft goods manufacturer for orthopedic injury treatment. Since then, the company transformed into a provider of surgical suite technology, collaborating with expert surgeons to develop operating room technologies.

Along its way, Mizuho OSI pinpointed four milestone events:

1. 1980 — The first Mizuho OSI operating room technology was developed.

2. 1992 — Mizuho OSI launched the Spinal Surgery Table, formerly known as the Jackson Table.

3. 2001 — Mizuho OSI teamed up with Joel Matta, MD, to develop a surgical table for trauma procedures.

4. 2017 — The company introduced its Levó Head Positioning System for all spine procedures.

"For Mizuho OSI success isn't necessarily about where we've been over the last 40 years, it's about continuing to develop solutions that make it easier for surgeons to improve the quality of their patients' lives," said Mizuho OSI President and COO Steve Lamb.

"As we look to the future of the operating environment, we are committed to working with surgeons, nurses and hospital partners to achieve both their clinical and fiscal goals. By maintaining this focus, we are confident we will continue to create the highest standards of innovation."
