DJO headquarters to leave San Diego for Dallas: 5 things to know

DJO plans to move its headquarters from San Diego to Dallas early next year.


Here are five things to know:

1. The orthopedic technology company made the strategic decision to relocate its headquarters into the Dallas market, which it believes has a larger pool of talent and can provide greater customer access. The company also hopes to "take advantage of what we believe is a better corporate environment for our company as we grow," said President and CEO Brady Shirley.

2. DJO's Bracing and Supports and Consumer business units will remain in San Diego in an improved space. Mr. Shirley said the company plans to build its bracing business in Southern California.

3. During the next three months, DJO plans to transition corporate functions to Dallas. It's new global headquarters is designed to support employee well-being and encourage collaboration. The location will also include a customer experience center.

4. Several current employees will move to the new location, and DJO will create hundreds of new jobs in the area. The company also opened a distribution center in Fort Worth, Texas earlier this year, and it currently employs more than 200 individuals.

5. This move is part of a multiphase facility optimization strategy the company began earlier this year.
