DJO launches the X4 Smart Brace with Motion Intelligence: 4 things to know

DonJoy, a bracing and supports provider and part of the DJO brand, launched the X4 Smart Brace with Motion Intelligence.

Here are four things to know.

1. The X4 Smart Brace with Motion Intelligence is the first knee brace for total knee arthroplasty that monitors patient recovery and compliance in real time.

2. The cloud-based Smart Brace records patient data pre- and postoperatively and sends it from the patient's app to the physician for review.

3. The X4 with Motion Intelligence is comprised of four parts:

  • The X4 Smart Brace, which features malleable aluminum hinges designed to support for support and adapt to different leg shapes
  • The Motion Intelligence 360 Sensor, which is embedded in the knee brace and enables on-demand monitoring of patients' range of motion and activity levels through daily step count
  • The Motion Intelligence App, which enables patients to track their rehabilitation goals and communicate directly with healthcare providers
  • The physician portal, which provides physicians access to patient information through a dashboard that integrates EMR/PM and surgical site photos

4. DJO is developing new solutions on their MotionMD-automated SaaS platform. MotionMD is HITRUST-certified.
