4 medtech notes: Stryker, Life Spine and more

From FDA approvals to medical milestones, here are four key developments from spine and orthopedic medtech companies since Jan. 29.

1. Life Spine earned FDA 510(k) clearance for its ProLift Pivot expandable spacer system. 

2. Orthopedic device company Enovis is planning a new manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas.

3. On Jan. 29, Fortune released its annual list of the World’s Most Admired Companies, including several healthcare companies from medical facilities, to insurers to medical equipment manufacturers. Medtronic and Stryker were included.

4. M. Craig McMains, MD, of Indianapolis-based OrthoIndy, performed the world’s first anterior lumbar interbody fusion with Theradaptive’s OsteoAdapt SP implant.
