1. The newly enrolled patient suffered a T8-9 fracture dislocation injury.
2. Charlotte, N.C.-based Carolinas Medical Center enrolled the patient.
3. Domagoj Coric, MD, of Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates and chief of neurosurgery at the Carolinas Medical Center, implanted the Neuro-Spinal Scaffold into the patient. Dr. Coric’s partner, Samuel Chewning, MD, helped with the procedure.
4. Drs. Coric and Chewning implanted the device about 19 hours post-injury.
5. Dr. Coric and William Bockenek, MD, serve as co-principal investigators at the clinical site.
6. This patient marks the 10th patient enrolled and in follow up. The INSPIRE is designed to enroll 20 patients.
